Lacrosse - 1998
Bob Miller graduated from Corning East High School in 1986 after four years on the varsity squad and joins two brothers (Mark in 1993 and Paul in 1994) in the lacrosse wing of the C-PP Hall of Fame. Bob was named All-Southern Trail Lacrosse League, first-team as a sophomore, junior and senior. During his junior and senior seasons, he led the Trojans in scoring and was named as a National Prep All-American as an attackman following his senior season. His teams won Section IV championships in his junior and senior seasons. They lost to eventual state champions West Genesee (16-3) in 1985 and then a 12-10 heartbreaking defeat to Jamesville-DeWitt in 1986. Bob finished his career at Corning East with top ten rankings in total points, goals, assists and games played. Bob was also a stellar basketball player for the Trojans. Following his high school career, Bob won an appointment to the United States Naval Academy where he excelled for four years despite suffering a broken ankle during his sophomore season. He is being joined in the Hall of Fame tonight by his wife Julie Kent Miller who is being honored in the sport of swimming.
