2019 Award Winners - 4 CPP High School seniors named recipients of the George Bacalles Memorial Award

The Corning-Painted Sports Hall of Fame honored four student-athletes from the Corning-Painted Post School District with the presentation of the George Bacalles Memorial Awards at the 45th Annual Induction dinner on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Corning Museum of Glass auditorium.

The four student-athletes to be honored are Derik Lisi, Adam Zingler, Cleo Baker and Lindsey Butler.

Each year the Hall of Fame, in conjunction with the school district, honors four senior student-athletes with the Bacalles Award. The honorees are selected by a board of all the coaches of the school district as directed by Athletic Director Bill Pierce. They are selected on the basis of what they do on the field of play, along with contributions to the community and their school.

George Bacalles was a former sports editor of the Leader and also was a former director of the Hall of Fame during its earlier years. He was a very strong advocate of youth sports and activities in the Corning area. His family will present the awards to the student athletes at the upcoming dinner.
